Plenty of power from the 6.0L engine. Fuel mileage has been 14.5 mph in town and up to 17 mpg on the highway with the 3.73 ratio. It also makes light work out of a trailer. Its a comfortable way to travel with up to 4 adults.

Gas milage is bad no matter what we have tried to do. Computer chip, air intake, dual exhaust, doesnt make a difference. Still only get 13 miles a gal. 8 miles a gal towing. Should have bought the 454 it gets same mileage and has more power.

I love this truck. I hate the gas mileage. But it has a lot of power for pulling trailers. I bought this truck two reasons. One to pull my fifth wheel camper & boat. Second, to go hunting. In North Dakota, you can pull tandem trailers behind your pickup if the first trailer is a fifth wheel with brakes. This truck can pull all day. But be careful in the heat (>90 ) the GMs overheat. I see them on the side of the road. It has not happened to me personally. When pulling tandem trailers I get 6 to 8 mpg. So you really need to watch your fuel gauge, if it worked correctly. Maintenance on this vehicle is oil changes and tires.

I love this truck. I got it age 15 for a first truck. The trans (4L80E) went at 142,993 miles, when it lost reverse. Very comfortable truck, I do notice when I go over bumps, the bed seems to move seperate from the cab. The interior design is pretty good, though the middle seat does not fold down for an arm rest, and the rear seats are locking, which can be a pain.

I bought this truck new and for the first 125000 miles I didnt do a thing to it except replace a cracked exhaust manifold (at 650000) and change the oil. I have 155000 on it now and in the last six months I have pretty much given it a complete overhaul. Everything broke at once. Granted Im not the best with maintenance and it all just caught up with me. Now with a complete new brake system, alternator, starter, the other manifold, and a tune up, I hope to get at least another 100000 miles out of it. The biggest complaint is the ABS. Even after the recall they still dont work right. Quick fix is to pull the fuse. I hope for a few more years out of it and would definitely buy another Chevy.

ok, check this out. I like this truck, everything about it, except that it is VERY VERY bouncy when you have bad road. I put about 25,000 miles in about 5 months now, and I suggest you do some research before buying this 3/4 ton truck. It kinda feels like your holding onto a machine gun at times. It gets bad, but when its good, its good. But when you haul stuff, life is good (very smooth). I suggest the Propane powered option because of them gas prices now. You get about the same mileage, but you pay much less for propane (cheapest ive seen is $1.30) vs. $2.25 for gasoline.

from day 1 chevy denied the steering bang/knocking in the steering box nothing to worry about. at 86900 miles Driver side exhaust manifold bolts broke off in head. Im having oil pressure problems(25 psi), metal shaving on the oil drain plug, clogged oil filter. Idling a bit rough. low lifter noise. side door trim continues to turn yellow so I painted them all black. Stereo cd broke after 1 year.

I bought this pick up new and traveled back and forth from B.C. Canada to Fort Mac Alberta every 26 days for the past 7 years and the truck has being perfect and unreal averaging 25 miles per gallon, and this is keeping records of every fuel up. the only issue i have is now it appears that rear trans seal or rear engine seal may be leaking. Is this common on these engines.
